QHSE UK Lead at Newrest

Job Descrption
Working closely with Unit management teams you will be responsible for compliance with the Newrest QHSE principles and procedures. You will look to continually improve the quality, accuracy and adherence to the current practices with reference to QHSE and assist in further developments. This role is a UK wide role covering where you will be providing the overview and support for our 3 units (London Heathrow, London Gatwick and Manchester).

Contract: Permanent

Tasks:

1. Embedding the Newrest Non-negotiables into the daily activities.

2. Encourage and develop the ICare program along with the ICare Champions and ICare Ambassadors.

3. Undertake HACCP Inspection, Health & Safety Inspections, Environmental Inspection, Ramp Safety audit in line with defined frequency as per Newrest Guidelines.

4. Develop feedback system with operational managers and follow up on action plan closure.

5. Collate and monitor the KPI data highlighting trends and areas of improvement.

6. Conduct Customer Self Audit. Review findings with management team and creating action plan. Co- ordinate and manage the customer audit.

7. Supplier Audits and Reviews – Liaise with procurement for the auditing of suppliers and the supplier performance reviews based on the claims data analysed.

8. Customer Complaints – Review the trends on customer complaints and liaise with operational teams for action plan in high frequency areas.

9. Promote the use of Calypso for recording all QHSE events. Development of the information from the tool to identify trends and areas of improvement required with the operational teams.

10. Microbiological Results – Monitor submission of samples according to volumes, highlighting to operational teams and deficiency or any trends in results being seen.

11. Support local unit QHSE with traceability exercise.

12. Update and review risk assessments ensuring all areas ensuring all aspects of the business are assessed

13. CSR culture to be embedded into daily operations through training and supporting the units with current and new initiatives.

14. Coaching and development of the unit based QHSE team.

15. Interact with, colleagues, customers and clients in a professional manner at all times.

16. Adhere to Unit safety measures in place.

17. Adhere to inflight services security compliance.

18. Adhere to clean as you go standard.

19. Interact with, colleagues, customers and clients in a professional manner at all times.

20. Drive, direct and implement unit Corporate, Social, Responsibility initiatives.

21. Any other duties as requested by your manager.

Skills and Knowledge:
• Affiliation to a suitable professional body.
• Food Hygiene, minimum diploma level.
• Minimum 2+ years of experience in QHSE management and food safety, within catering.
• Experience of strengthening ISO certifications.
• Strong analytical skills are essential.
• Excel knowledge desirable.
• Possess a pro-active approach and a can do, collaborative attitude.
• Possess a high level of attention to detail and accuracy with an ability to deliver on strict deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written to build business relationships and interact with internal customers
