Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled PL/SQL Developer with expertise in Funds Services (specifically Transfer Agency) to join our client's global consultancy. The role requires a deep understanding of funds services operations, paired with strong PL/SQL and Oracle database skills, to develop and maintain database systems supporting a client’s fund services operations. This position is open to candidates from diverse backgrounds and career paths, provided you have relevant funds services experience.
Key Responsibilities:
• PL/SQL Development: Design, develop, and optimize PL/SQL packages, procedures, functions, and triggers to support business logic in the fund’s services... space.
• Database Design & Optimization: Build and maintain database structures (tables, views, indexes) to ensure scalability and performance for high-volume financial transactions.
• Funds Services Expertise: Apply domain knowledge in funds services (e.g., transfer agency, fund accounting) to enhance reporting and data management processes.
• Performance Tuning: Monitor and optimize database performance, ensuring fast query responses for critical business operations.
• Data Management: Manage large and complex datasets, ensuring data integrity, accuracy, and compliance with industry standards.
• Automation & Optimization: Automate processes such as batch jobs, fund valuation, and reconciliations using PL/SQL for increased operational efficiency.
• Collaboration: Work collaboratively with business analysts, product managers, and fund services teams to gather requirements and deliver database solutions that meet business needs.
• Testing & Documentation: Develop unit tests for PL/SQL components, maintain detailed documentation, and support user acceptance testing (UAT).
• Troubleshooting & Support: Provide timely troubleshooting and resolution of database-related issues, including performance bottlenecks and operational problems.
• Compliance & Security: Ensure database solutions adhere to financial industry regulations and maintain high standards for data security and privacy.
Key Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience gained through professional work or self-learning.
• Experience:
• * 7+ years of experience as a PL/SQL Developer or Database Administrator, with at least 3+ years in a funds services environment.
• Knowledge of transfer agency, fund accounting, custody, NAV calculation, and financial reporting processes.
• Technical Skills:
• * Expert-level proficiency in PL/SQL programming and Oracle databases (Oracle 11g, 12c, or later).
• Experience in database tuning, indexing, partitioning, and performance optimization.
• Knowledge of Oracle Data Pump, RMAN, and Oracle Enterprise Manager for database backup and recovery.
• Familiarity with data modelling, SQL queries, and managing large datasets in high-volume environments.
• Domain Knowledge: Understanding of financial instruments, fund lifecycle management, and compliance reporting in funds services.
• Soft Skills:
• * Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Clear communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across business, technical, and operational teams.
• Adaptability to handle multiple projects in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with automation tools like Oracle Scheduler or similar batch job frameworks.
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
• Experience integrating Oracle databases with third-party systems in the funds services domain.
• Certifications in Oracle Database (e.g., Oracle PL/SQL Developer Certified Associate).
Contract Details:
• Status: Inside IR35 – Umbrella engagement preferred.
• Location Flexibility: This is a fully remote role, with applicants from the EMEA region being considered.
