Job Summary
We are looking for a dynamic and experienced female Gym Manager to oversee the operations of our women’s only gym. The Gym Manager will be responsible for managing the day-to-day running of the facility, ensuring the delivery of exceptional customer service, driving membership growth, and leading a team of fitness professionals. The ideal candidate will have a passion for fitness and women’s health, excellent leadership skills, and a strong background in gym management. Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Development:
• Recruit, train, and manage a team of personal trainers, fitness instructors, and front desk staff.
• Provide leadership and guidance to the team, setting clear goals and expectations to ensure high performance.
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and motivating environment for both... staff and members.
Member Engagement & Customer Service:
• Ensure the delivery of excellent customer service, addressing member needs and resolving issues in a timely manner.
• Build strong relationships with members, promoting engagement and retention.
• Implement member engagement initiatives, such as fitness challenges, social events, and educational workshops.
Operational Management:
• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the gym, ensuring that all areas are clean, safe, and fully functional.
• Ensure all equipment is properly maintained and serviced, addressing any issues promptly.
• Manage staff schedules and ensure that the gym is adequately staffed during all operating hours.
Sales & Membership Growth:
• Drive membership growth by promoting the gym to potential members through local outreach, promotions, and partnerships.
• Collaborate with the marketing team to implement local marketing campaigns and events to attract new members.
• Monitor membership sales, track performance against targets, and implement strategies to achieve membership goals.
Financial Oversight:
• Manage the gym’s budget, ensuring financial efficiency and control over operating expenses.
• Monitor daily financial transactions, including membership payments, sales of retail items, and personal training packages.
• Report on financial performance and key metrics to the General Manager.
Compliance & Safety:
• Ensure the gym adheres to all health and safety regulations, including conducting regular safety checks and risk assessments.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment for both staff and members.
• Ensure all staff are trained in health and safety procedures, including first aid.
Project Management:
• Lead and manage special projects such as new fitness programmes, facility upgrades, or events.
• Coordinate with external vendors and contractors as needed.
Requirements:
• Gender: Female (due to the nature of a women’s only gym)
• Experience:
• 3-5 years of management or supervisory experience in the fitness industry.
• Proven track record in managing gym operations, leading teams, and achieving sales targets.
Qualifications
• Level 3 Personal Trainer certification or equivalent fitness qualification.
• First Aid and CPR certification.
• A degree in sports management, business, or a related field is advantageous.
Skills:
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to manage and motivate a diverse team.
• Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills.
• Organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively.
• Understanding of fitness trends and knowledge of how to engage members.
