About Us: Pawpadour Dog Grooming Salon in Tooting is a high-end grooming studio renowned for our attention to detail and expertise in providing teddy bear cuts, Asian fusion cuts, and breed-standard grooming for all dog breeds. We are now offering an exciting opportunity for a passionate and dedicated individual to join our team as an Apprentice Dog Groomer. This role is designed to provide hands-on grooming experience and training to individuals with a strong interest in pursuing a career in dog grooming.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare dogs for grooming by senior stylists, including bathing, drying, rough trimming, and nail clipping.
• Assist senior groomers with brushing, clipping, and styling according to breed specifications or customer requests.
• Learn and apply proper grooming techniques for different coat types and breeds under the guidance of expert groomers.
• Ensure excellent salon presentation by... maintaining cleanliness, hygiene, and safety in the grooming area and equipment.
• Handle dogs with care and compassion, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout the grooming process.
• Interact professionally with clients and ensure a positive experience for both dogs and their owners.
• Assist in administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing client records, and maintaining inventory.
• Attend training sessions and workshops to continuously improve your skills and stay updated on industry trends.
Desired Skills & Personal Qualities:
• Experience handling dogs in a professional setting (grooming experience preferred but not essential).
• Enthusiasm, a passion for dogs, and a genuine interest in pursuing a career in dog grooming.
• Strong communication skills for interacting with clients and team members.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high grooming standards.
• Willingness to learn, follow instructions, and take direction from senior groomers.
• Physical stamina and ability to handle dogs of various sizes and temperaments.
• Flexibility to work Monday to Friday only.
Qualifications:
• Maths and English GCSEs preferred.
• Willingness to work towards a Level 2 Dog Groomer Apprenticeship through on-site training with Pawpadour and the college.

Training:
