Job Descrption

Details of duties:
• Source and procure high-quality ingredients, particularly Sichuan-specific spices, meats, and fresh produce, ensuring authenticity and cost-efficiency.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with local and international suppliers to secure the best deals and guarantee timely delivery of ingredients. Monitor stock levels and manage inventory to avoid shortages while minimizing waste.
• Negotiate contracts with suppliers to ensure best prices while maintaining product quality. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene regulations during the purchasing process.
• Work closely with the kitchen and management team to anticipate needs and adjust orders accordingly. Stay up-to-date with trends in the culinary market, particularly within Chinese and Sichuan cuisine, to ensure we are sourcing the finest, most authentic products.

Skills, experience and qualifications required for the job:
• Proven experience as a Purchasing Officer, preferably in the food and... beverage industry.
• Strong knowledge of Chinese ingredients, particularly those used in Sichuan cuisine, is highly desirable.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, with strong organizational and time-management skills.
• A keen eye for detail and the ability to manage costs without compromising on quality.
• Passionate about food and interested in contributing to the success of a unique dining experience.
• The ability to communicate in both English and Chinese is preferred as the candidate is expected to communicate with Chinese speaking suppliers and stakeholders.
