Echo Architecture is looking for a junior interior designer to join its team in London.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years’ experience and will be enthusiastic, hardworking and diligent.
We are a diverse creative team of architects and interior designers, developing a range of large-scale commercial projects from initial concepts through to detail design, working closely in partnership with our head office in Riyadh, KSA.
We deliver a wide variety of commercial project types: retail, hospitality, residential, leisure and workplace projects, as well as larger mixed-use schemes that may contain a mix of the above.
The ideal candidate will have experience of working on large scale commercial projects in one or more of these sectors. The candidate will be working as a part of a small team guided by senior interior designers and architects but will be expected to be self-motivated, to demonstrate problem solving skills and to take responsibility for their day-to-day... tasks.
The role is initially fixed term contract, with expectation to extend or potentially transfer to full term position and will be working full time in our office in the heart of London.
The role and responsibilities:
• working as part of a team to deliver high quality work at all stages of a project
• bringing creativity in developing concepts for the projects, both alone and as part of a team
• to assist in the development and delivery of drawing packages, schedules and information as a key part of the wider team
• the candidate will be expected to be self-motivated and to liaise with colleagues in developing and coordinating projects
• the candidate is expected to be thorough and diligent, responsible for work produced, self-checking output and flagging issues as they arise as well as proposing solutions to design issues
• the work can be fast paced and the ability to react quickly to changes in focus is vital
• knowledge of materials and enthusiasm for research, as well as keeping up to date with current design trends
• the ability to communicate and discuss ideas visually – this may be in 3D hand sketching, but not essential
• effective communication of concepts with carefully selected images and development of mood-boards is essential
Key skills:
• fluent in AutoCAD
• fluent in SketchUp and Enscape or similar rendering programme
• fluent in Indesign and Photoshop
• creativity with good design knowledge
• organised and self-motivated
• experience or large-scale mixed-use retail/leisure and entertainment schemes
