Description
Cubico is looking for a commercially orientated Senior Asset Manager. The role will require the candidate to directly manage and be responsible for some of Cubico’s UK portfolio (currently 250MW of operational wind and solar, plus 47.5MW of construction BESS) on a day-to-day basis from a HSE, commercial, technical and financial basis. The Senior Asset Management will be the country Asset Management solar lead, and therefore be responsible for most of the solar project, plus at least one wind or BESS project.
Based in Cubico’s London head office the role will report into the Head of Asset Management (UK). An Assistant Asset Manager will support this role, plus the other Asset Manager in the team
Key Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Providing exemplary HSE leadership.
• Implement best practice asset management in the asset portfolio... working closely with functional teams across the business to optimise HSE, commercial and technical performance.
• Monitor and report asset performance and implement strategies for improvement of performance, mitigation of risks and creation of value.
• Develop and manage all contracts and agreements and ensure compliance with all licences and consents.
• Project manage and deliver key initiatives across the business including inverter replacement and spares strategies, plus procurement, management and negotiation of all project contracts / work packages.
• Prepare and agree operational plans and budgets, control and analyse performance of operating assets against approved budgets.
• Manage the production of regular portfolio and project level reports highlighting HSE and commercial performance, risks and technical issues.
• Prepare and review O&M plans and strategies for assets to optimise through-life value.
• Ensuring project and portfolio level risks and issues are managed, mitigated and reported.
• Preparing, reviewing and managing O&M plans/asset management strategy for existing and new projects to optimise P&L over life.
• Managing and ensuring both commercial and technical compliance with O&M contracts, land leases and other project level contracts.
• Preparing, agreeing and managing budgets.
• Managing insurance claims.
• Ensuring operational invoices are issued/paid in a timely manner.
• Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Provide input to business development, acquisition and asset construction activities in the UK and proactively share knowledge and experience with the wider business.
• Take directorships for SPV companies as required.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
The successful candidate will have:
• An engineering degree or equivalent technical qualification.
• Extensive experience of asset management and operations in the renewable energy industry, with solar PV experience of particular relevance to the role and BESS experience an advantage.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues and external counterparties across all levels and across diverse cultures.
• Strong commercial acumen / track record and the ability to translate technical findings into commercial implications.
• Proven experience of contract management & managing HSE.
• Proactive and enthusiastic, with a positive attitude and a drive for high standards.
• Ability to review and reassess priorities in response to challenging situations and deadlines.
• Working knowledge of project finance documents (e.g. asset reporting requirements, covenants, ratio tests) and financial reporting.
• Solid planning and organising skills to include effective prioritisation and resource management.
• Ability to work under pressure and to deliver high quality work to tight deadlines.
• Fluent in English, with a second language such as Spanish being an advantage.
• Membership of an appropriate professional institution or similar is attractive
