INVESTMENT BANKING INTERN

Its Investment Banking division provides independent advice on M&A, debt advisory, financial restructuring, structured funding & asset backed securitizations, credit portfolio advisory and capital markets transactions, having advised on c. 750 deals for a total value of c. €187bn in the last four years. Alantra’s senior bankers and execution teams offer a global understanding of industry sectors combined with strong local relationships with the companies, investors, entrepreneurs, and financing institutions in each of its markets.

Role description:
As an Intern within Alantra CF, you will support senior team members with a wide variety of tasks such as supporting transaction execution on the buy- and sell-side, and client pitch work. This also includes work associated with ensuring maintenance of best practice materials and supporting deal teams in working efficiently and effectively on internal and external facing deliverables.
You will be fully integrated into the team allowing you to work and interact with team members of various seniorities getting direct transaction experience and an end-to-end view of the life of an Alantra CF analyst.
Day to day responsibilities will include:
• Assisting in the preparation of pitch presentations to potential clients relating to buy- and sell-side opportunities and other business development activities.
• Supporting deal teams in the execution of transactions which will include:
• project management tasks, such as note keeping, preparation of agendas and monitoring follow-ups.
• the preparation of deal marketing materials.
• data-room management.
• undertaking market research and preparing reports.
• the preparation of other transaction materials such as data tapes, target/portfolio pricing.
• Researching transactions in the market, helping to maintain our research databases and supporting the preparation of client communication.
Interns have direct exposure to all seniority levels internally, as well as direct client contact where possible. Alantra gives its Interns significant responsibilities and is committed to their learning experience during their tenure with the firm.
If performance is outstanding, interns will have the chance to join our Corporate Finance team as analysts at the end of their internship.
Requirements:
Role Requirements:
• Completed studies.
• Ability to roll into full-time position immediately after internship.
• Strong academic background/results and financial knowledge (accounting and company valuation) and understanding of financial statements.
• A desire to learn quickly and adapt to new teams, clients, and tasks.
• Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
• The ability to work collaboratively and multi-task under pressure.
• Proficiency in the use of MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel.
• Fluency in English (spoken and written); other languages highly desirable but not mandatory.
• Able to work in the United Kingdom.
