Overview
As a part of RGA Global Technology, the EMEA Regional CIO is looking for an ambitious Technology Manager to join the team. The EMEA IT team works in lock step with the global technology strategy and interweaves EMEA business and regulatory needs into their delivery and support of the business.
This role will work alongside a regional architect, technical product owner and Executive Director to support a varied and complex set of products across of EMEA. Compliance, security and resilience are increasingly... important and this newly cleated, yet crucial role, will play an integral part of helping meet the needs of all business stakeholders through partnership, collaboration and strategic planning.
The role will require a mix of hands on project support, delivery coordination, architecture and strategic alignment, so will suit someone with a strong and broad understanding of enterprise technology as well as a problem solving and critical mindset.
Responsibilities
• Support the Regional Business Engagement team to deliver successful outcomes for the region, managing expectations, advocating for business needs, and keeping stakeholders informed about technology developments.
• Support the business and contribute to the technology strategy to ensure alignment with and support the business goals and objectives.
• Collaborate with the business in the development of the business case, road mapping, resource, and budget planning with a strong focus on financial responsibility. Seek opportunities to optimize IT spend.
• Refines SLAs and ensures that delivery is meeting the partners expectations.
• Identify and mitigate risk in all functional and non-functional areas of the business. Ensure timely management of risk and adapt strategy and delivery accordingly.
• Gathers high-level business needs and supports scope definition in initial discovery by conducting meetings/interviews and facilitating large group/cross-functional sessions with Business Engagement functions and partners.
• Facilitate solution discussions and collaboration between the business stakeholders, Regional IT (as needed), Enterprise Architecture, and other functions as needed.
• Provide regular updates on the status and health of the delivery to their respective business stakeholders and facilitates cross Business Engagement / Business Unit IT sharing. Health Reporting
• Coordinate among multiple Technical Partners and Regions to ensure seamless collaboration and alignment, ensuring that business projects and their value are promoted to IT leaders and the broader IT community. Coordination
• Maintain healthy vendor relationships, maintains a forward-looking view of vendor direction and interfaces with vendors to understand if vendor products will meet business requirements.
• Acts as a change agent and ensure proper IT governance and compliance with global and local regulatory requirements. Governance
• Proactively seek opportunities for innovation in either technology or ways of working to deliver value and efficiency.
• Maintain required training development relevant to the role including timely completion of mandatory training.
Requirements
• Approximately 3-8 years of IT and business/industry work experience and demonstrable experience developing and executing technology delivery.
• Experience in implementing and delivering technical deliverables and solutions for external customers and internal business users.
• Experience in system design and strong understanding of enterprise architecture principles and practices.
• High levels of business and technical engagement with sustained delivery over a long-term period.
• A proven track record of maintaining qualifications and relevant personal development.
• Technical architecture qualifications
• Programme delivery methodologies such as Agile including use of innovative tooling.
• Financial / budget setting experience Knowledge or experience of Reinsurance or equivalent industry
