Eurofins CLC is part of Eurofins Forensic Services (EFS) was created as a discrete business within the Eurofins group. EFS employs nearly 700 staff across 7 sites in the UK and is the market leader for the provision of forensic services to the Police forces of England and Wales, as well as other commercial organisations and public sector bodies and is the largest private forensic service provider in Europe. All of our forensic analytical services are accredited to the ISO17025 international quality standard and are subject to regular review and scrutiny by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS).

Job Description

Salary:                         Competitive

Working Hours:          37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday)

The Role

Lead the Product and Service portfolio in the Legal Testing Service (LTS). Manage the Sector, development and delivery of the Analytical methods and business processes required to support the LTS marketplace. This will include the road mapping and deployment of new method development with internal & external Labs. The industrialization of products and services needed in the LTS sector including the automation of case management and reporting processes.

The ideal candidate will be required to build and manage the operational team needed to execute the LTS case work load.  Integrating the commercial activities with the Client operations (Collection officer network) , customer services & internal and external Labs to ensure the business is operating at optimal efficiency.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • In conjunction with the commercial and marketing teams, develop a sector specific Product and Services road map to meet sector requirements and ensure CLC can capture  market share through a complete portfolio of  products & services required to meet growth objectives.
  • Build a strong personal client network to understand changing customer requirements and to gauge customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain a detailed knowledge and awareness of the overall CLC marketplace  including drivers, legislation and best practice.
  • Develop efficient business processes and Lab capacity to support the expansion in the LTS business sector.  Though creating a platform capable of  meeting or exceeding the sector requirements and business lead KPI’s
  • Develop and maintain key sector specific service elements to enhance the overall proposition to customers. e.g  Client case management and Clinical reporting.
  • Build the  operational team to manage and control case management & reporting, planning capacity based on  the LTS order book and budget plans.
  • Manage a process improvement program to eliminate waste in the  end to end business process  to drive  automation and  increase efficiency
  • Work with the CLC general manager and LT to ensure the effective management and delivery of the Business Unit’s strategies and priorities.
  • Define the governance and run meetings with the internal and external Labs (as appropriate) and follow up on actions in order to successfully manage the product & services portfolio
  • Contribute to the Business Unit’s strategic objectives by working collaboratively and actively with colleagues internally and externally, utilising best practice to help build and foster CLC reputation in delivering outstanding services and value for its customers
  • Understand and comply with relevant legal, regulatory, policy and procedural requirements and standards and escalate/report concerns to management as appropriate
  • Research and assess the performance of the business to determine its strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and potential threats
  • Liaise and communicate effectively with key stakeholders and externally as appropriate, to consult on plans and projects, share knowledge or best practice, and help champion  CLC / LTS business aims
  • Develop long-term relationships with key stakeholders through active business development
  • Develop a Product and service roadmaps and strategy documents to deliver growth, EBIT and market leadership goals and  Implement the roadmaps, strategy as agreed with the representative of his/her shareholder.
  • Prepare and propose an annual budget and 3 year plan.  Report on any deviations to deliver the agreed targets to his/her shareholders. 

Qualifications

Knowledge, Experience and Technical Skills

Essential:

  • 3-5 years  business management in the LTS market place.
  • Excellent knowledge of the LTS marketplace, current and potential customers and their business needs.  Understanding of the competitors and their services offered  / delivered
  • Experience of working in a UKAS accredited laboratory.
  • Experience of Product and Service  development in  Analytical services  DNA  / TOX
  • Good IT skills, word, excel, Powerpoint and CRM solutions.
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Flexible and creative thinker
  • Good auditing skills e.g. not swayed, or diverted, be inquisitive etc.
  • Must have a ‘can do’ attitude and be able to deliver change through people management skills.

Desirable:

  • Degree in forensic science or related discipline and relevant experience of quality systems
  • Excellent working knowledge of  DNA  / TOX  laboratories
  • Project and  business process management
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written. Ability to articulate ideas and consult on strategic plans and objectives.
