Job Description

As an IT Project Manager for Eurofins Food and Water Testing UK you will have overall responsibility for project managing incremental delivery of suite of IT applications, ensuring a robust service is provided to our UK and Ireland Laboratories and customers. The role is in Wolverhampton with some travel to sites across the UK and Ireland. 

Your main duties will be ensuring that the UK and Ireland Food & Water Testing businesses are supported through in-house LIMS and suite of Business Applications. You will be functionally driving the Software Development and LIMS Support functions of the business ensuring that the eLIMS systems are rolled out and operating to sufficiently support the business.

  • Formulate project plans and governance structures, identifying cross-functional stakeholders aligned with Eurofins UK/Ireland Food & Water Testing and Group business strategies.
  • Strengthen the adoption of the Agile Scrum model within the Food & Water Testing IT team, fostering a culture of agility throughout the team.
  • Engage with key stakeholders, including internal teams, clients, and external partners to gather requirements and ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Oversee the on-going Change Management process for eLIMS FGS, ELDM, overall Eurofins suite of applications, other internal solutions.
  • Oversee the management of third-party suppliers engaged to run the Third-Party systems for non-integrated labs system on behalf of Eurofins
  • Assist in second and third level support for LIMS, ComLIMS and EOL and other LIMS related applications.
  • Understand the business needs and then lead the team to scope, design, develop, test and implement B2B applications to add value and provide solutions to our customers.
  • Support as necessary new laboratory acquisition and integration activity.
  • To operate in line with Eurofins Quality systems with specific reference to retailer standards, reporting, contract review, complaints, and non-conformances.
  • Provide data analysis and reporting service to General Managers and laboratory management.
  • Oversee, monitor, and report on multiple Agile Scrum projects, presenting key performance indicators (KPIs) for evaluation.
  • Timely execution of projects and reporting to the steering committee (steerco).
  • Develop detailed project plans delineating tasks, timelines, and resource requirements to ensure effective project management and good communication to key stakeholders.
  • Manage the execution of IT projects related to food testing, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Provide regular project updates and ensure effective communication to manage expectations.
  • Establish and enforce quality assurance processes for IT solutions supporting food testing activities.
  • Implement testing methodologies to validate the accuracy and reliability of software systems.
  • Identify potential risks related to IT projects and implement strategies to mitigate them.
  • Proactively address issues to prevent delays or disruptions in food testing operations.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement within IT systems and workflows.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the effectiveness of IT processes and existing business systems supporting food & water testing in collaboration with the key users.
  • Lead and motivate cross-functional IT teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to team members.

Qualifications

  • Experience of leading an IT scrum team, rolling out & coaching teams on agile scrum principles and project managing multiple inter-dependant initiatives
  • Knowledge of LIMS systems / Web Development would be an advantage.
  • Confident and engaging communication skills suitable for both internal business and with clients
  • Understanding of new and emerging new IT delivery methodologies, testing framework, IT technologies and ability to identify ways of leveraging them.
  • Strong presentation skills including ability to present solutions to key business stakeholders.
  • Proven track record of process analysis, documentation leading to creation and deployment of successful value adding software solutions.
  • Creative with the ability to come up with solutions and ideas for new business processes or products or to enhance existing offer.
  • Proven track record of driving success and meeting targets and deadlines through agile scrum principles.
  • A highly organised individual with an analytic skill set.
  • A forward-thinking and problem-solving mindset and approach to logistics.
  • A demonstrable track record of achieving business objectives through process and people.
