Job Description
The Metrologist is responsible for calibrating a wide range of equipment and instrumentation within pre-determined accuracy and precision tolerances.
Equipment that is in scope includes but is not limited to: balances, mechanical/electronic pipettes, thermometers, tachometers, timers, multi-meters, check weights and other standards (that are then used to calibrate other devices), pressure control devices and environmental chambers.
Maintaining a schedule, and adjusting the schedule based on the needs of partner groups
Reviewing the work of peers and assessing the work of external vendors.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree from accredited Institution in Metrology, Electronic Engineering, Physics or appropriate technical discipline, advanced metrology/calibration training and certifications or previous military PMEL (Precision Measurement Equipment Laboratory, or comparable) experience
Capability of operating in a regulated pharmaceutical environment
Excellent attention to detail
Good written and oral communication skills
Minimum 3+ years’ experience in a metrology, calibration or validation function; preferably within a research/regulatory environment.
Experience operating in a cGxP environment is not required, but is helpful.
