Job Description
The Senior Manager Business Performance and Data Insights is a critical, high profile role reporting to the Chief of Staff to Europe CEO & Head of Business Planning and Operations (BPO). The role is accountable for managing the Scorecard, the MI Pack as well as leading the transition to and operations of the newly formed Business Performance and Data Insights team and will play a pivotal link between the Europe CEO Office, the 6 European clusters, commercial functions, and the global BPO team.
This hands-on role requires strong data and business analysis skills. You will be highly numeric, have advanced knowledge of Excel, good working knowledge of one or more BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau etc.) will be an advantage, and experience in running data analysis and governance (SQL knowledge) will be an advantage. The role holder should be comfortable discussing data architecture (business tables, sources) with Tech teams, own and maintain data dictionary (single source of truth) to drive data governance at senior-level. You will be equally at ease in communicating with business teams as you will be translating business requirements into technical use cases for Tech teams. You will have strong business analysis skills to build insightful narratives of key trends, highlighting business risks, opportunities, and driving continuous improvement in the team.
The role holder will need to be highly organised (documentation), a willing learner (new tools/ platforms, AI etc.), and comfortable navigating challenging forces (political, disruption etc.) in a fast-paced environment with significant change. Adaptability and agility are key requirements, as our team must respond quickly to the needs of the CEO and European business.

Leadership
- Drives annual target setting exercise in partnership with global and regional stakeholders.
- Leading the temporary transition to the new model, leveraging effective change management processes
- Implements the new operating model focused on data ownership, standardized reporting, and insights.
- Leads engagement with BPO leaders in the commercial functions and clusters to roll out and drive smooth execution of the team.
- Coaching and supporting the Leadership Team to enable them to self-serve their data and information needs, reducing dependence on PowerPoint presentations and fostering a culture of data-driven decision making.
Performance Management
- Accountable for delivering monthly European and Cluster scorecards.
- Accountable for delivering monthly European MI pack.
- Collaborates with the regional and global BPO leads to establish the scorecards as a mechanism to drive successful execution of strategic objectives and to provide visibility of performance shortfalls.
- Partners with business stakeholders to enhance the Monthly Performance (MI) pack for Europe to facilitate decision making in critical business areas.
- Engages with senior business stakeholders to deliver performance insights as part of the monthly reporting process and to facilitate critical business meetings.
- Leads automation, best practice, and training to drive efficiencies in the scorecard planning process and embed within the wider Europe businesses.
Business Analysis
- Understands key business performance drivers to support the Europe CEO Office and its stakeholders through data driven storytelling to link performance with strategic goals.
- Provides insightful analysis on current trends and Visa Europe’s achievements to support strategic communications for Europe CEO.
- Provides insightful commentary on operational and strategic risks & opportunities.
Data Governance & Insights
- Supports roll-out and future enhancement of global performance solutions (“the TRUTH”, Executive dashboard).
- Collaborates with DSL, IT, and regional business owners in rolling out new performance solutions in the European region.
- Owns the data dictionary, data access protocol and governance for any information related to the corporate scorecard or MI pack, in line with the Visa Data Values
- Performs data analysis as needed to identify root causes of trends and recommends corrective actions.
- Ensures data is managed in compliance with relevant regulations and European policies – including GDPR and records management.
- Partners with stakeholders to ensure that they understand their responsibilities concerning data contribution and data access.
- Provide a deeper and broader focus on actionable insights, moving beyond merely describing the data to interpreting, analyzing, and providing strategic recommendations.
Team Management
- Direct line management of the Business Performance and Data Insights team in alignment with Visa’s leadership principles and people leader responsibilities e.g., performance management, learning and development, coaching etc.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in financial services or payments, ideally with some combination of commercial, operations, and finance experience
- Demonstrated exceptional analytical skill with experience managing and manipulating large relational data sources (Tableau, Power BI etc.)
- Qualified in one of the following: Statistics, Finance, Economics, Business, or Computer Science, Engineering or other quantitative fields
- Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively – both verbally and in writing to stakeholders at all levels
- Proven ability to service and support a range of internal and external customers, often in parallel and within a shifting set of priorities.
- Experience working across European markets in the payments sector
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including ability to create and understand complex formulas, link databases and create working MI Tools.
- Microsoft Word, PowerPoint
