What we expect of you, day to day:
The Account Executive - VCS will be responsible for managing, growing and retaining a portfolio of Visa’s UKI commercial issuing clients.
Managing a portfolio of accounts including key strategic client relationships, working in a consultative manner to retain and grow the account and create loyalty
Maximising revenue opportunities by building a deep client relationship and by being accountable for creating and delivering strategic and tactical account plan initiatives
Analysing client data and reacting quickly to account changes and/or market changes that may directly impact the profitability of the account
Actively seek and advise on new business opportunities
Accountable for prioritising conflicting and competing demands across multiple accounts or products to ensure resources are deployed to maximum effect
Work closely with the various teams across Visa to ensure client / market needs are being met and great product solutions / platforms are being delivered to our commercial clients in the UKI market
Work with clients to identify new and ongoing requirements, introducing new B2B & Commercial products and services as appropriate, endeavouring to break down silos and work together as One Visa
Work closely with the assigned clients, regularly liaising with multiple key stakeholders on the client side and ensuring an ongoing quality relationship is maintained
Demonstrate good knowledge of all products and services, with expert knowledge in B2B & Commercial areas. Understand the impact of their specialty area on assigned client business
Engage with cross-functional colleagues ensuring teams such as marketing, merchant services & acquiring and consulting are appropriately involved and informed about relevant member topics
Provide guidance and support with major contract negotiations and is involved in all major structural changes/account restructures
Contribute to the development of innovative solutions and departmental plans
Solve unique problems that have a broad impact on the business
Contribute to the development of the overarching commercial strategy for clients and Visa
Provide insight and input within cross-functional Visa organisations for new or changing products and services which may impact their clients, including Visa rules, integrated billing, and transaction research.
Stay current with industry and client trends and maintain a strong knowledge of Visa products and services. Represent complex customer change requests, system or operational requirements, negotiate and manage expectations internally and externally.
This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
Essential Qualifications
- 5+ years of relevant experience in account management, business development or client relationship teams within the payments ecosystem
- Be self-motivated with focus on results and delivery
Preferred Qualifications
- 8+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or at least 5 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 2 years of work experience with a PhD
- Proven depth of experience in driving client growth and winning business in B2B or financial services environment
- Demonstrable knowledge of the UK and Ireland payments industry landscape, trends and opportunities.
- Knowledge of local, regional and global market trends in commercial and financial payments
- Highly developed relationship management skills with a deep sales orientation
- Experience in successfully selling projects and ideas to senior management based on insight and needs
- Ability to source, develop, lead and close on commercial use case sales deals
- Executive presence, strong communication (written and verbal) and collaboration skills
- Ability to challenge preconceived attitudes and behaviours and shape future thinking
- Ability to influence people, plan, prioritise and track execution across cross-functional and with external partners
- Degree level education is preferred
- Knowledge of key Visa tools would be advantageous but not essential
- Willingness to travel within the UK and Ireland up to 20%
