Job Description

Position Summary

The Global Financial Planning and Analysis team serves as a strategic business partner for global business leaders and provides finance support for global business functions. We are an agile, highly visible team that collaborates across functions/product groups and play a leading role in providing financial planning, management reporting, and decision support analytics to business leaders. Visa’s Value-In-Kind (VIK) program plays an increasingly important role in fueling growth of Value Added Services (VAS) and Commercial and Money Movement Solutions (CMS), two high priority focus areas for Visa. Appropriately structuring the offer of select VAS and CMS services in the form of value-in-kind (VIK) incentives to clients, while displacing cash incentives, is a lynchpin strategy for the company.  The Global VIK Finance Team sits within the broader Global VAS FP&A Team and closely partners with leaders across all facets of the business to advise on and plan for how to optimize on both the offer and delivery of VIK incentives to drive Visa’s growth.

We are seeking a strategic finance leader to join our VAS finance team. The Senior Finance Manager will serve in a finance leadership and partnership capacity for Global VIK Performance Management.  As a finance business partner, the candidate will cultivate strategic operational partnerships to support the execution of strategic and financial thought leadership and assist with financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting processes.

Essential Functions:

Strategic Advice and Partnership:

  • Partner with business leaders to evaluate the financial impact of potential investments and develop long term financial plans
  • Develop and present strategic insights about the VIK program and its effectiveness in driving VAS and CMS growth
  • Align functional goals and strategies to broader global initiatives
  • Lead performance diagnostics, budgeting, forecasting, multi-year strategic outlook and management reporting
  • Become a valued business partner to the VAS and CMS business stakeholders and executive management
  • Play lead role as a core member of the Global VIK central team to ensure effective rollout of VIK expansion strategy
  • Acquire and maintain a deep understanding of the strategies, priorities, and issues of global VIK delivery functions

Financial Management:

  • Lead preparation of the monthly, quarterly, and annual business plans and analyses
  • Interpret and present key findings to senior leadership and executive management audience
  • Understand business levers and recommend measures to further improve results
  • Establish efficient processes for monthly and quarterly performance reporting for optimal results

Project Management:

  • Provide decision support to senior finance leadership on investment or project decisions as well as strategic organizational and functional developments
  • Provide thought leadership and guidance on core process improvements, building efficiencies and streamlining deliverables
  • As needed, support Senior Director with broader responsibilities around VIK and Advisory Services performance management and other strategic initiatives
  • Spearhead ad-hoc projects to further improve the overall performance of the team and organization(s)

Business Engagement:

  • Integration of finance into the business
  • Leading team meetings and understanding of the business
  • Tailored, effective presentations, analysis, and dialogue with business partners across regions and functions
  • Dialogue around budget and spend to optimize budget and investments and drive return-on-investment discipline
  • Develop, improve, and manage robust toolkit to help analyze the business and enable management decision making

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications
8 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or at least 5 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 2 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications

  • 9 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or 7 or more relevant years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 3 or more years of experience with a PhD
  • Strong foundation in Finance and working knowledge of GAAP or Visa Accounting Policy preferred
  • Prior experience in FP&A, Investment Banking, Consulting or Corporate Strategy preferred
  • Ability to improve processes, systems, and plans that balance short-term and long-term growth
  • 4+ years of experience in FP&A with a strong understanding of financial management
  • Superior analytical, project management, and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated intellectual and analytical rigor, ability to communicate effectively with executive management
  • Advanced proficiency in financial modelling (Microsoft Excel) and building presentations (Microsoft PowerPoint) are required
  • Experience with Tableau, Power BI, Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM a plus
  • Experience in budgeting and forecasting, business performance analytics, and working with multi-functional teams
  • Ability to cultivate effective relationships and communicate effectively with management to influence outcomes
  • Team oriented, collaborative, diplomatic, and flexible, with excellent presentation skills, including strong oral and writing capabilities
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills to influence and build credibility as a peer with business leaders in global and regional function
  • Ability to make decisions with limited guidance, usually within a complex and often ambiguous environment, to drive rigorous, fact-based recommendations to senior management, while supporting syndication with stakeholders across the organization
  • Strategic and analytical thinker with capability to work through complex problems, processes, and data sets
  • Experience with complex financial systems (e.g., Hyperion, TM1) is beneficial but not required
  • Experience leveraging SharePoint, Power Apps, and other knowledge management workflow tools is beneficial but not required
  • High energy and enthusiasm required to partner with multiple global and regional stakeholders
  • Able to work in a dual reporting matrix environment

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 133,000.00 to 192,950.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity. Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401 (k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.
