NEC are looking for a mid level Java Developer to work on the development of large-scale operational applications. We would consider a talented Developer with 2+ years experience.
The successful candidate will be required to:
Develop high quality software using the Java language
Communicate and collaborate effectively with the Business Analysts and Product Owners to resolve requirements gaps and conflicts.
Create and execute Unit Tests on developed software
Support and maintain developed software within agreed service level targets and quality objectives
Work effectively as part of a team
Raise issues which cause personal or team development to fall outside of agreed quality or timescale tolerances and to actively contribute to their resolution.

Communicate problems in a timely manner to the Tech Lead, Project Manager
Maintains agreed standards applicable to the work undertaken
Is a good team player
Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with team members located elsewhere within the UK and India
Demonstrate an enthusiastic and pro-active approach to software development
Demonstrate the desire to produce high quality software products
The ability to work flexibly and imaginatively in a changing and evolving project environment.
Qualifications
Required
Java 2+ years
Source control tools Git/Github
SQL
Ability to write understandable, well-formatted and efficient code
Desirable:
Spring Boot - REST based Webservices
Object Oriented Standards (i.e. SOLID principles)
PostgreSQL
Webservice / REST
Agile Methods (Scrum / Kanban)
HTML
CSS
JavaScript/TypeScript
Experience of working under a formal Quality Management System
Experience of working on an Defect / Requirement Management Tool (eg: Jira)
Able to perform root cause analysis of problems and identify a solution to the problem.
Able to suggest improvements to a User Story and communicate these to required stakeholder
Work flexibly and imaginatively in a changing and evolving project environment.
