Job Description

As a Machinist at COS, you will work closely with Pattern Cutters and Designers to sew first toiles and finished samples in accordance with COS high-quality standards. 

What you will do: 

  • Deliver work of the best quality, in line with Atelier deadlines. Ensuring consistency across all product types. 
  • Collaborate with Buying, Design, Pattern and Production teams to deliver high quality samples, toiles and mock-ups. 
  • Share skills and knowledge with all teams to create wider understanding of garment construction. 
  • Constantly building knowledge of the COS customer, brand bible and basic business flow. 
  • Work closely with Pattern Cutters and Designers in their daily development work. 
  • Work closely with the Atelier team to solve potential issues, offering production solutions that meet COS high quality standards. 
  • Collaborate with different departments to ensure correct focus on quality, speed and efficiency are achieved. 
  • Take part in knowledge building initiatives such as trainings with new team members and the wider team. 
  • Maintain a clean and organised working environment, ensuring all equipment is regularly serviced and fitted with correct accessories. 
  • Apply a cost-conscious mindset to keep the atelier toile and sample development running in the most efficient way. 
  • Give and ask for feedback on construction and sewing techniques.

  • Previous experience as a Machinist specialising in womenswear tailoring (luxury beneficial) 
  • Strong communication skills with high level of English 
  • Intermediate knowledge of microsoft 360 package 
  • Enjoys being part of a team and also working on their own initative 
  • Good time management skills, able to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritise workload  
  • Genuine interest in the COS brand  

Additional Information

This is a full-time permanent contract based at our Head Office in London.
