ABOUT THIS JOB
Deliver a customer experience that inspires better, bolder decisions for clients, and drives enduring relationships with customers by delivering everyday value. Responsible for strategic account development, meeting or exceeding portfolio revenue target, and team leadership.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Commercial & Client Leadership: (~15%)
- Serves as strategic client partner, understanding their business needs and innovation process (ownership may sit with AM/Mgr based on tenure, client size, etc.)
- Consistently engages senior insight partners and beyond (with Account Development & Specialty Sales leads) to establish broad support for BASES as a partner
- Identifies and pursues opportunities to strengthen relationships through value-added analytics, training, thought leadership, etc.
- Partners with Account Development & Specialty Sales leads on revenue forecasting exercises and creates/maintains/follows through with account plans
Project Delivery & Analytical Leadership: (~55%)
- Ensures the overall success of client deliverables
- Joins client meetings, managing client reaction to any surprises or issues and helping to quickly resolve any challenges
- Signs off on overall outcomes/recommendations and "big picture" tone/story
- Is final arbiter/consultant on tricky data, story, or client situations, as needed
- Helps resolve project issues to maintain timing and delivery standards, if needed
- Supports team as senior review (only when required for particularly complex or high-profile projects where additional senior consulting may add value)
- Joins/leads presentations as needed, both to add senior-level consulting/perspective but also proactively identify follow-up opportunities
Team Leadership: (~30%)
- Leads/participates in interviewing/hiring decisions, training, thought leadership and/or task forces
- Develops team and/or people managers: onboarding, training, regular 1:1s, coaching discussions, performance reviews that identify development areas and stretch opportunities, Talent Review, and otherwise enabling people managers to grow their associates
- Manages team workload/capacity and engagement
- Drives team expertise of services, tools, metrics, and client standards
REQUIREMENTS
Knowledge
- Comprehensive experience of design research
- Experience with statistics, research techniques, and experimental procedures
- Experience of qualitative, quali/quant and expert sensory panel approaches
- Knowledge of the consumer packaged goods industry, characteristics of different categories
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Knowledge of in-market data (desirable)

- Excellent understanding of client needs relating to innovation, development and optimization of new products
- Strong Business English knowledge, both verbal and written (and local language if required)
- Demonstrates strong leadership and people management skills
- Demonstrates strong problem-solving skills and is analytically curious
- Strong analytical mind and excellent numerical skills
- Effective communication skills
- Consultative storytelling
- Good organizational skills
- Negotiating skills
- Understanding of growth and brand strategy (desirable)
- Understanding the principles of forecasting/ability to discuss a forecast potential with clients (desirable)
- Understanding of NIQ Practice Areas and the value they provide to clients (desirable)
Education and Experience
- University degree in Marketing, Economics or related field a must, preferred Postgraduate or MBA
- 10+ years’ experience in Marketing Research
- Experience in team leading and management (experience with matrix organization would be an asset)
- Knowledge and exposure to more than one market (worked preferably in the international arena and on the agency side)
- Comfortable working in a digital-enabled environment
- Ability to travel (if required)
