Job Description

This role will require you to work closely with the Director of Business Development to drive revenue growth in addition to managing your own portfolio of clients.

The role will require actioning and improvement of leads generation and creating new revenue streams for non-traditional clients. It is essential that you are conversant with excel and can analyse data to produce tailored reports to prospective clients across different industries. Other key responsibilities include management of your own sales pipeline, development of new products to meet client demand, the ability to present Nielsen BookData products and services in an engaging manner and be able to network and build rapport with prospective clients.

You must be enthusiastic, driven, confident and a natural communicator!

Role purpose:

  • To support the Director of Business Development in selling Nielsen Book Research data, insight and services to drive new areas of revenue growth.
  • To manage a portfolio of existing clients with their subscription and data needs.
  • To work with marketing and the Director of Business Development on improving leads generation and increasing exposure of Nielsen BookData’s products and services.
  • To build relationships both within and external to the book trade to identify and develop services and collaborations to drive revenue and increase brand reach.
  • To work with the wider business to identify new business opportunities and the creation of new revenue streams.

Key responsibilities:

  • To drive revenue growth through existing routes while creating new ones.
  • To explore and commercialise Book Research Products and Services to prospective clients within and outside of the Book Trade.
  • To become an integral member of our team, to contribute knowledge, skills and ideas for the wider business benefit and to drive your own development and career path.

Specifics:

  • Develop a solid understanding of our data solutions, customers and the industry to support the execution of the strategic plan for the business.
  • To identify new prospects and initiate and maintain contact, building a relationship to establish an understanding of the business benefits of Book Research.
  • To sell Book Research Products and Services (ad-hoc & subscription services) exceeding sales targets and KPI’s.
  • Devise and deliver effective sales and marketing strategies to unlock new revenue opportunities.
  • Support and, where possible, uplift existing client subscriptions.
  • To ensure quality control in all sales output and that all customer enquiries are handled efficiently and to a high standard.
  • Secure a solid sales pipeline and deliver sales reporting to management.
  • Work closely with Marketing and the Director of Business Development to communicate the value of Book Research products and services and representing Nielsen at trade events and book fairs.
  • To create and deliver tailored presentations to businesses across different industries, and where relevant, trade bodies and conferences to increase brand awareness and generate sales.
  • Role administration duties include:
    • Prepare and deliver compelling proposals to prospective clients to include the key business benefits, pricing and full-service details.
    • Contract negotiation and completion.
    • Maintenance of records in the CRM system, including invoicing and billing details.
  • To leverage relationships across Nielsen Book and wider Nielsen Companies to create new revenue streams and grow Nielsen Book.
  • To provide support across Book Research and wider teams with new business, pricing, negotiation and driving growth.
