Job Description
Mirantis is adding a Head of Community Strategy Lead to our team! As an Open Source Strategy Lead, you will focus on building and executing the Open Source Strategy, both internally and externally for Mirantis.
Main Responsibilities
Create an overall open source strategy for Mirantis
Establish an open source office within our CTO organization
Identify critical projects for contribution, develop plans for contributing to these projects and execute to deliver to plan
Ensure contributions are kept to the highest quality standards
Provide influence through active participation in key committees / subcommittees
Ensure that Mirantis is actively engaged and contributing to the review process of key projects
Establish a process for approving contributions prior to committing to a project
Integrate our open source contributions into our lifecycle management solutions, offering our customers a unique value and support
Identify and secure additional resources to support the open source office
Help develop a community of Mirantis advocates
Clearly measure KPIs and pacing goals
Establish internal company initiatives to encourage and reward contribution
Provide community support by building tutorials and articles
Document and analyze the community feedback in a structured way and suggest measures to best serve our community
Attend meetups, community events etc. as applicable, present Mirantis
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering or similar field; or equivalent combination of education and experience
4+ years of relevant working experience in open source software environments, ideally, OpenStack / OpenInfra, CNCF, etc… This includes and is not limited to collaborating, architecting, contributing, reviewing, influencing, etc..
Ideally, participated in committees/subcommittees, BOD representation, community advocate, etc..
Clear understanding of infrastructure, Kubernetes, OpenStack, etc.
Proven leadership skill
Excellent communication skills and enjoy explaining complex technical solutions in a way that most people would understand it
