Job Description

The Finance department at MUFG is working to transform our function in order to provide the highest level of financial insight and analysis, performance metrics, and decision support to enable improved business outcomes. We are transitioning from manual, inconsistent procedures and addressing technology challenges and staff knowledge gaps to a client-focused approach. To promote a data culture and increase efficiency, the organization is implementing initiatives such as on-demand access to business metrics.

We are looking for a highly motivated, detail-oriented Data/ Business Analyst to join our Finance Analytics. The successful candidate will be responsible for collecting business requirements, analyzing, interpreting complex requests and translating them through use of illustrations and detailed business requirement documents for development & implementation. and presenting financial data to provide meaningful insights and support informed decision-making.

• Collect, enter, cleanse, and verify the accuracy of financial data from multiple sources
• Interact with senior business stake holders in gathering feedback and requirements, document them and relay them to the development team. 
• organize training sessions on educating end users on the new additions and improvements to finance reporting and data platform
• Deliver action-oriented analysis, scenario based, and propose recommendations that support the Heads of businesses in their strategic decision making  
• Evaluate current processes and make recommendations for improvement 
• Monitor and analyze trends in external financial data (industry and market trends) to identify potential areas of optimization  
• Develop detailed reports and presentations to summarize findings and insights 
• Collaborate with the Finance Department to ensure accuracy of data and reliability of processes

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a Data Analyst in a finance environment
• Strong level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs, particularly Excel, Power Bi (Report Builder experience)
• Experience in agile Project management and knowledge of lean Sigma an asset
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills  
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
