The Technical Support Engineer (TSE) role will be responsible for the training and continuous improvement of their regional FSE team and support the Regional manager in identifying and delivering training as needed
Key Responsibilities & Tasks
• Expert in the diagnostic and repair of all EVSE charger type on the bp pulse network
• Ensure that the location Delivery targets, KPIs, and Operational priorities are communicated to the team and subsequently met or exceeded.
• Lead the planning, implementation and follow up of continuous improvement measures at your location
• Seek out, review, and analyse performance data to translate numbers and establish the best strategy / action plans; communicate these regularly to your team
• Ensure that processes and best practices are well understood, implemented, followed at your location and shared across the wider department
• Drive continuous improvements to facilitate exceptional team output and customer service including designing innovative solutions to problems at your location
• Champion efficiency, productivity, quality, and overall excellence in all of your actions and decisions
• Take responsibility for implementing HSSE safety requirements in your location
• Maintain a strong overview of processes and resources
• Establish close cooperation with all business stakeholders, internally and externally
• Provide support to the team in dealing with difficult customers conversations, ensuring that customer needs are understood and met
• Guide and coach employees towards always providing a best-in-class customer experience and on-going training and development for FSE’s
• Take part in on-call activities as required including nights and weekends 1 in 4
• Regularly liaises with the Tech & Data Leads on new ways of delivering solutions and introducing best practice training initiatives
• Assesses performance on site, identifying training requirements and reporting appropriately and supporting the ongoing development and coaching of the team members
• Works closely with Ops Regional Manager and Senior FSE to carry out training needs and skills gap analysis
• JIB recognised UK competency-based qualification (electrotechnical Level 3 NVQ or a formal UK electrotechnical apprenticeship)
• IET 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualified (BS7671:2018)
• 2919-1 Level 3 in Domestic, Commercial & Industrial Electric Vehicle Charging equipment installation or equivalent
• 2391 Inspection and Testing qualification
• ECS card (Maintenance Electrician or electrician) • Full UK Driving License
Knowledge & Experience
• Fully qualified electrician
• Deep understanding of the EV charging technology and electric vehicles
• PCB analysis experience advantageous
• Field service engineering experience including but not limited to fault finding and diagnosis
• Electro-mechanical repairs knowledge and experience
• To carry out risk assessments and adhere to method statements
• To ensure installations are correctly identified by type
• To ensure electrical installations are compliant to Electrical regulations
• A fast learner, flexible and passionate individual who is willing to work in a fast-paced environment liaising with stakeholders effectively.
