This role will support R&D and production operations by ensuring all equipment and support systems are maintained to the highest standard. This role supports operations through both planned preventative maintenance tasks, project operations and equipment failure support, all aimed at maximising effectiveness and efficiency of equipment and facilities.
Requirements
Work with a team of equipment engineers to deliver a robust programme of planned preventative maintenance which includes continual maintenance of deposition, processing and test equipment and supporting tools.
Work with the team to support effective troubleshooting of all technical issues, deviations and breakdowns and where necessary liaise with equipment manufacturers to resolve issues as they arise and minimise downtime of equipment.
Work with robust monitoring and maintenance processes, recording routine checks and systems events.
Oversee project work as required, liaising with contractors and suppliers to ensure the highest standards of work and services are delivered on time and to budget. Additionally, be the on-site contact for these contractors and ensure that they are adhering to the correct code of practice.
Stock control of consumables and spare parts to ensure systems are always stocked and capable of continual operation.
Ability to comply with all relevant company health and safety policies and to take responsibility for maintaining safe working practices always. Additionally, support the companies’ environmental policies and security requirements.
Focus on continuous development, learning new technical skills and improving department efficiency.
Prepare RAs, SOPs, & Wis and keep them up to date where appropriate.
Ensure production efficiency stays high by striving to keep the uptime on critical equipment (e.g. MOCVDs, ALDs, RIEs) and supporting utilities (e.g. vacuum systems, high purity gas systems, HVAC, pneumatics, pumps, safety systems, water loops, heat exchangers) above 85% on a monthly basis.
Work as a key member of the facilities team to plan and accomplish major projects, such as equipment installations and major infrastructure changes.
Education and Qualifications:
A relevant Engineering qualification at a higher education level
Experience:
Experience of supporting complex equipment in a clean room/ manufacturing environment
Experience of working as part of a dynamic team in a fast-changing environment.
Experience of liaising with contractors to ensure a good service is received
Skills and knowledge:
Technical mindset with an interest in cutting edge technology
Ability to think calmly and logically under pressure to deliver good solutions
Communication:
Ability to communicate at all levels with both internal and external contacts
Ability to present information clearly and appropriately for the audience
