Senior Technical Implementation Consultant at Gorilla
London, United Kingdom
Job Descrption
We're at a turning point in history. Climate change is changing the world faster than ever before. Utilities will play a crucial role in the transformation of our society to fight climate change and become carbon-neutral, while at the same time making sure people and businesses can continue to use energy supply like they've been used to for so many years.
At Gorilla, we're determined to not stay aside, but to make a real impact on the utility industry by providing data services that allow utilities to play the role they need to play in the quest for a net-zero society. By building something that solves a real problem, and by being the best at what we do.
Your role
As the Technical implementation consultant, you are the primary technical point of contact for the customer and project stakeholders, ensuring seamless delivery of our innovative solutions from inception to go-live.
In your role you lead customers in improving their business processes and architecture to be future proof with a focus on flexibility, automation and scalability.
In partnership with the project manager, energy consultants, and the data engineering team, you elevate the delivery of IT projects, providing technical support and training during design phases and translating functional requirements into technical specifications.
You employ your extensive technical knowledge and strategic vision to guide both internal and external stakeholders, ensuring the alignment of expectations and creation of customer-tailored solutions in collaboration with the Gorilla sales department.
You actively contribute ideas for process improvements, propelling Gorilla's professional services forward and striving to keep improving the efficient delivery of implementation projects. Participating from the sales phase through to the implementation of a project, you are included in every stage, providing consistent support and technical insights.
Your responsibilities
You are responsible for writing technical specifications for data intensive algorithms in our energy applications suite that are to be implemented by our data engineers.
Create technical documentation and diagrams. You advise on the integration game plan, maintaining the architecture coherently throughout the project lifecycle.
Give high-quality technical demos towards prospective clients and partners.
Translate technical project details into understandable language for both technical and non-technical participants. Challenge energy clients and engineers on requirements, integration architecture, scalability, and risks, ensuring all assumptions are scrutinised and all possibilities explored.
Represent and demonstrate Gorilla’s innovative technical architecture to our clients, advising on feasible implementations and providing feedback on architectural design.
Analyse and comprehend the energy client’s business, infrastructure, and tech stack to define integration blueprints, actively participating in workshops with different stakeholders.
Work closely with our Energy Consultants for end-to-end process mapping, providing additional support during design phases and briefing formula designs to engineers.
Acquire knowledge on technical integrations & API, data processing design principles/best practices, and Gorilla’s Out Of The Box (OOTB) solutions.
As an experienced consultant you mentor junior technical implementation consultants in their work and on their skills.
Collaborate closely with colleagues, fostering a spirit of co-creation and teamwork.
Requirements
You ideally have a bachelor or masters in a technical relevant area (computer science, engineering, or similar with exposure to software development),
You have a minimum of 5 years of proven experience in large IT projects and architectural design of digital products;
Experience in designing and implementing data-intensive applications. Coding experience with python and pandas is a plus;
Proficient in system integrations with extensive knowledge of various integration technologies (including REST API, JSON, XML, SOAP, File Transfers (SFTP/FTPS)) and one of the major cloud providers (preferably AWS);
Experience creating architecture diagrams, process maps and sequence diagrams. Working knowledge of architecture modelling tools and frameworks (e.g. UML, BPMN);
Adept at balancing technical and client-facing roles, with the flexibility to understand both detailed data and the overarching picture;
Experience in the Energy & Utilities sector is a significant asset;
Fluent in English, both spoken and written, and open to travel once a month.
Benefits
You become part of an ambitious organisation and an enthusiastic team with a mindset to win! As Gorilla is growing at an incredible pace, you can leave your mark - growing alongside Gorilla.
We actively challenge ourselves and our colleagues, in order to always improve our skills, methodology and capabilities. Lifelong learning is essentially embedded in our organisation, and we care about your individual dreams and ambitions, beyond just work.
On top of that, our remuneration approach is clear and no-nonsense, just like our feedback culture and personal development approach. You'll be able to join a team from wherever you'd like to work - equipped with the best technology for remote work. We'll provide access to an office space near you whenever you like, as well as frequent travels to meet your colleagues in person, making sure you'll never feel lonely.
