General Dynamics in St Leonards-on-Sea currently provide avionic mission computing systems for a wide range of military fast jets, helicopters, and UAV’s. Recent success has resulted in General Dynamics developing the next generation of Advanced High Performance, Safety Critical Mission Computer Systems to meet the needs of latest platforms in development by several aircraft manufacturers. These Mission Computing Systems provide the functionality that integrates aircraft systems, sensor systems and weapon systems with the information and control systems required by the aircrew to meet the demanding operational needs of these aircraft.

Job Description

The role of Quality Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for monitoring, analyzing and identifying possible improvements through all aspects of Operational Quality Assurance, but with particular attention to the adherence of manufacturing quality standards through process implementation in accordance with Company processes.

Typical activities include:

• Ensuring that Non-conforming products, services and processes are investigated and effective corrective and preventive actions are implemented.
• Performing audits at agreed points in the project/product lifecycle.
• Manage Failure Review Boards with all functions ensuring the necessary actions are taken by each function for effective closure of the failure.

Qualifications

To be successful in the role you will need to have:

• Excellent communications skills (both verbal and written)
• Knowledge of M/S Office tools
• Working Experience of ISO 9001/AS9100
• Working Experience of IPC 610
• OND/HNC in an Engineering discipline (Electronics/Mechanical) or considerable experience of working in an manufacturing environment
• IPC 610 practitioner qualified is desirable
• Chartered Member of Institute Quality desirable
