Brakes are recruiting for a Maintenance Manager who will be responsible for the leadership, organisation, delivery and development of the facilities engineering team to maintain the plant, buildings and other facilities in an effective and safe manner, to assist the site in delivering its operating plans across the Warrington and surrounding depots.

This is a depot-based role that will be located in Warrington and plays an integral part of the facilities team on site, who will support all maintenance activities through condition monitoring schedules, lubrication routines, general engineering duties and health and safety management.

  • Ensure plant, equipment, buildings and facilities are maintained to deliver an effective and safe operation by having the correctly balanced planned maintenance strategy that delivers cost effectively.
  • Ensure that all statutory requirements are met and audits/accreditations are achieved against all relevant legislative and environmental standards eg ISO14001, IPPC and EUETS.
  • Manage the site’s capital plan on time, in full, on forecast and implement a program of CI to reduce engineering/energy spend and improve delivery of engineering services including engineering contracts.
  • Work closely with the site management team to ensure good working relationships, to improve efficiencies and to deliver key performance improvements.
  • To prepare, analyse and forecast capital expenditure and engineering department R&M budget requirements.
  • Deliver reliability-based maintenance across site in a cost effective manner.
  • Implement a structured program of Planned Maintenance and Asset Management to deliver reliability-based maintenance across site in a cost-effective manner.
  • To manage contractors and 3rd party contracts to ensure best service delivery.
  • Manage and control engineering capital projects and deliver within time and financial constraints.
  • Ensure that criticality analysis has been completed for the site and equipment, and that there are suitable plans in place to mitigate serious failures.
  • Review all equipment failure information to remove the root causes of all major and repeat failure modes.
  • Process data to analyse plant performance to drive reliability and cost-effective maintenance.

You’ll be an experienced Facilities Manager / Engineer having obtained management experience within a FMCG / logistics operation and hold NEBOSH or IOSH qualification as a minimum. We are looking for strong, broad-based engineering/compliance management background with experience of site/building services and equipment that supports logistics operations. Proven budgetary control skills and good IT literacy as well as demonstrable analytical and problem-solving abilities is essential. This role will suit someone who is able to demonstrate improving performance in Planned Maintenance and Asset Management.

  7. STATUATORY SYSTEMS
  8. DOCK DOOR SYSTEMS INCLUDING LEVELLERS AND SHELTERS
  9. BUILDINGS / OUTSIDE AREAS / WASTE HANDLING
  10. EFFLUENT, DRAINAGE AND YARD MAINTENANCE
  11. AIR CONDITIONING AND HVAC
