Distribution Manager

Day shift: Monday - Friday with flexibility to work other shift patterns when required
Bicester, Oxfordshire (with occasional travel to other business sites)
As the Distribution Manager for our Fresh Direct business (part of the Sysco Group), you’ll be responsible for the effective leadership of the function, managing a large fleet and team of drivers, ensuring that all aspects of this busy distribution operation run effectively and efficiently.
Reporting to the General Manager, you will be responsible for the overall performance of the department and the delivery of key performance indicators. As the budget owner for the function, you will be commercially aware, using both data and management information in order to meet and exceed performance expectation. Additionally, you will be responsible for the adherence to legislation, company policy and ensuring the ongoing compliance of fleet management and the Safety of your team. As an ambassador for the organization, you will be expected to lead by example, setting a positive and engaging culture within your team.
You will be a forward thinking individual who possesses a continual improvement philosophy, whilst adept at managing change. You should be able to identify and implement solutions that enable service and cost benefits. A proven leader, you will develop your direct reports and set clear direction for all Transport colleagues, creating a positive, engaging and high performance working culture. Having previous experience of a similar role, within a fast paced, time critical environment is desired. You will also be the principle O License holder for site, so a National/ International Transport Manager CPC license is essential for this position.
