A well-established accountancy practice north of Derby and within a short commute of Belper, Ashbourne and Heanor are looking to recruit a Bookkeeper / Accounts Assistant to join their team, with some element of reception cover and administration also included in the position. Applications are sought from people with bookkeeping / VAT experience, ideally from an accountancy firm, although local professionals with the same experience from a company could be included too.

The firm also need someone happy to spend a smaller portion of their time supporting the overall office, with some reception cover and related administration duties.

This is a fully office-based role and will suit someone who enjoys a varied position combining accounts work with general office and client-facing duties.

Key Responsibilities

Bookkeeping and bank reconciliations

Preparation of VAT returns

MTD-related submissions

Use of cloud accounting software (e.g. Xero)

Answering telephone calls and dealing with client enquiries

General administrative and reception duties
