A well-established and reputable boutique law firm based in Hale is seeking a highly capable and motivated Commercial Litigation Paralegal to join its expanding disputes team. Role Overview
The successful candidate will assist solicitors and senior fee-earners with a diverse range of commercial disputes. You will be involved in contentious matters from instruction through to resolution, offering crucial support across case management, legal research, document drafting, evidence preparation, and client liaison. This role is ideally suited to a proactive individual with strong analytical ability and a genuine interest in litigation.
Key Responsibilities
• Support the commercial litigation team with day-to-day file management across a varied caseload of contractual disputes, debt recovery, shareholder/partnership matters, property disputes, and professional negligence claims.
• Conduct detailed legal research into case law, legislation, regulatory frameworks, and procedural rules to support case strategy and preparatory work.
• Review complex case papers, disclosure documents, financial information, and client evidence, ensuring accuracy and identification of key issues.
• Draft a wide range of litigation documents including letters of claim, statements of case, witness statements, court forms, settlement proposals, and pre-action correspondence.
• Prepare evidence bundles, trial bundles, and hearing documentation in line with court deadlines and procedural requirements.
• Manage communication with clients, opponents, counsel, experts, and third parties to progress matters efficiently.
• Assist with administrative tasks relating to case progression, scheduling, file maintenance, compliance, and internal records.
• Ensure all work meets relevant regulatory, compliance, and data protection standards.
Skills & Experience Required
• Previous experience in commercial litigation or general civil litigation (minimum 6–12 months preferred).
• Strong understanding of litigation procedures, CPR rules, and pre-action protocols.
• Excellent drafting skills with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to review and analyse complex information quickly and accurately.
• Confident communicator with strong client-facing skills.
• Highly organised with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
• Proficient with legal research platforms and case management systems.
• Degree in Law (LLB) or equivalent; LPC/SQE advantage but not essential.
