Role Overview
We are seeking a driven and well-connected Commercial Solar Sales Partner to work with us on a freelance, commission-only basis. The role is focused on originating and converting new commercial solar PV projects.
You will be responsible for identifying opportunities, engaging decision-makers, and progressing leads through to contract award. Once a project is secured, our internal technical and delivery teams will take over project execution.
This role suits an experienced sales professional, consultant, or business developer with an existing network in commercial property, education (including private schools), industrial, or facilities management sectors.
Key Responsibilities
• Identify and generate new commercial solar PV opportunities
• Proactively engage decision-makers (e.g. business owners, estates managers, bursars, facilities directors)
• Qualify prospects and confirm commercial viability (site suitability, energy usage, decision process)
• Introduce opportunities to our technical team and support proposal development
• Lead or support sales meetings, presentations, and negotiations
• Progress opportunities through to signed contract
• Maintain accurate records of leads and project status
Commission Structure
• Commission paid on successfully won and contracted projects only
• Commission structure agreed upfront per project (percentage or fixed fee per kWp / project value)
• No cap on earnings – income directly linked to performance
• Prompt commission payment upon agreed project milestone (e.g. contract signature or project commencement)
Required Experience & Skills
• Proven experience in commercial B2B sales, ideally within solar, renewables, energy, or construction
• Strong ability to generate and close new business independently
• Existing network within relevant commercial or institutional sectors (highly desirable)
• Confident, professional communicator with a consultative sales approach
• Self-motivated and comfortable working on a freelance, commission-only basis
Desirable (but Not Essential)
• Experience selling commercial solar PV systems
• Knowledge of PPA, CAPEX, or hybrid funding models
• Experience working with private schools, academies, or multi-site organisations
• Understanding of commercial energy usage and sustainability drivers
