Job Title: Finance Assistant

Location: Barnsley

Reports To: Finance Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organised Finance Assistant to support the finance department with day-to-day accounting tasks. The ideal candidate will have strong numerical skills, a good understanding of financial principles, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
• Process and reconcile invoices, receipts, and payments
• Maintain accurate financial records and update accounting systems
• Support month-end and year-end close processes
• Handle petty cash and staff expense claims
• Liaise with internal departments and external suppliers
• Provide general administrative support to the finance team

Requirements:
• Proven experience as a Finance Assistant, Accounts Assistant, or similar role
• Knowledge of basic accounting principles and financial regulations
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications
• Experience with Sage Accounting software
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Working Hours: Part-Time (Hours to be agreed)

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From £12.26 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 24 per week
