Description
My client is looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Finance Assistant to join their close-knit finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone early in their finance career who is eager to learn, grow, and make an impact in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment. The successful candidate will work closely with the Finance Business Partner and wider team to support day-to-day financial operations, month-end processes, and stakeholder reporting. Key Responsibilities
• Assist with accounts payable and receivable processes
• Support month-end and year-end close activities
• Reconcile bank statements and manage petty cash
• Maintain accurate financial records and documentation
• Prepare reports and analysis for internal stakeholders
• Liaise with suppliers and internal teams to resolve queries
• Support budgeting and forecasting activities
• Assist with VAT returns and other compliance tasks
• Contribute to process improvements and system enhancements
The Ideal Candidate
• A degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• Strong Excel skills and familiarity with accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, or similar)
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
• A proactive attitude and willingness to learn
• Strong communication skills and confidence dealing with senior stakeholders
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Previous experience in a finance role (internship or entry-level) is a plus
